Suzanne Tyson

CEO

After meeting hundreds of students who needed help funding their higher education, Suzanne Tyson decided she would help them find new and innovative ways that they could pay.

While Suzanne knows better than most that there are millions of dollars of “free” money out there for students-lots of scholarships for the brainiacs and uber-humans among us (10%-20% of students) and ample funds for those in dire financial need (10%-20% of students), the pickings are slim for all the rest.

The “Middle Sixty”, as Suzanne has dubbed them, have a hard time winning academic scholarships and they can’t qualify for financial need-based awards. 
Where was there a source of “socialistic” funds? The kind that everyone could access, without writing an essay or submitting an application? Funds that didn’t come with a ball and chain?

Then one day Suzanne opened her wallet and counted eleven (11!) Loyalty Program membership cards she regularly used. “What if,” she thought, “what if the Loyalty Program points she and 90% of her fellow Canadians collected could be used to help students – their own children, children of family members, the children of close friends – to pay for school?” And so the journey began.

Points for School is the new chapter in this story.

Marco’s passion lies in transforming relationships into trusted enduring partnerships, company missions into strategies and building goal-oriented high-performing teams. Marco has leadership experience in B2B, B2C, and B2B2C organizations in the SaaS, financial services and loyalty industries.

At his core, Marco places relationships first, believing success is a collaborative effort. Marco’s leadership style is that of a “player-coach”, prioritizing people and delivering great experiences for both clients and team members. Marco is as comfortable working at the strategic level as he is with hands-on implementation.

Marco brings an extensive successful track record of business and organizational growth, primarily through fearlessly managing global multi-million-dollar tier 1 client portfolios and executive relationships. 

Having his sons currently enrolled in post-secondary education, Marco recognizes today’s financial commitments for higher education and the important role Points for School plays in providing flexibility to utilize reward program points to support these commitments.

In his spare time, you’ll find Marco enjoying the company of his family and friends, traveling, intently following Formula One racing or looking for his mis-hit golf balls.

David Miller

Chief Technology Officer

With both his team and clients, David fosters collaboration, cultivating fruitful relationships that contribute to project success.

We call David the Tech Whisperer. What makes David unique is his ability to ingest clients’ business objectives and build phenomenal tech solutions; those that meet immediate needs, but built with an eye to future growth. His ability to synthesize non-tech business-speak and efficiently stand up turn-key tech is a dream come true. 

That’s not to say David can’t work with the dog’s breakfast—old tech stitched together with “bandaids and spit”—he can even make that bend to his will. But give David a big idea and he’ll tap into his extensive web dev experience and passion for emerging technologies and translate any complex concept into an actionable plan that drives results for his clients.

With both his team and clients, David fosters collaboration, cultivating fruitful relationships that contribute to project success. 

David’s an avid track cycling enthusiast, and can often be found speeding around a velodrome or the scenic routes in his adopted city of Vancouver. His love for cycling provides David with a healthy work-life balance, keeps him physically fit and serves as a testament to his dedication to pursuing excellence both personally and professionally.
